Cellulite is one of the most stubborn forms of fat, resistant to even the healthiest diet and exercise routines. Every woman knows what cellulite is! What you may not know, is that there are at least 4 different types of cellulite!

That’s because it is not only an issue of deposits of fat, but a structural problem beneath the skin. To truly reduce the appearance of cellulite, the focus must be inside the body where the cellulite forms as well as on the underside of the skin. The Cellulaze treatment uses laser light to stimulate the body’s production of collagen in the region to smooth and renew the skin.

Most forms of cellulite treatment focus on the skin from the outside – creams, ointments or compression. Cellulaze laser cellulite reduction is the only cellulite treatment that concentrates its attack beneath the skin. And is the only one FDA approved to do so! By targeting the brittle bands of connective tissue causing the dimples that are a sure sign of cellulite, Cellulaze is uniquely successful in diminishing these lumps and bumps.

What Can I Expect During a Cellulaze Procedure?

The Cellulaze procedure is typically performed in your doctor’s office. It generally takes between one and three hours, depending on the number and size of the locations being treated. Local anesthesia is used to numb the treatment areas, and relaxation medicines are taken which helps minimize discomfort during the procedure. Most patients simply feel a light pressure. A few very tiny incisions are needed.

Dr. Birchenough will insert a very small, thin tube called a cannula (small tube) under the skin in the affected area. A laser fiber placed within the tube delivers focused energy directly to the source of the problem below the skin. It releases the bands of fibers that have been pulling on the skin. The laser will also be directed to diminish the pouches of fat that have been protruding beyond these bands and remove them. The laser is then turned upward, toward the deep layers of skin to stimulate contraction of the skin from the inside.

Typically, no fat is actually removed to treat the cellulite, but a smoother contour results, with tighter skin!

How Long Will It Take For Me to Recover?

Recovery time is shorter than most surgical procedures because it is a minimally invasive procedure. Usually in less than one week, depending on the physical activity that you would like to do, you will be doing. Typically, walking can start within two days, with light cardio activity starting within one to three weeks. With a balanced diet and regular exercise results are long-lasting. Compression garments maximize the results and minimize the healing time necessary.

What Questions Should I Ask Dr. Birchenough?

  • “How does this treatment differ from all the other cellulite treatments I’ve tried before?”
  • “Which areas of the body are best for Cellulaze treatment?”
  • “What type of cellulite do I have, and how does the affect the treatment results?”
