What is an Arm Lift?

Arm lift surgery targets fat and loose skin in the upper arm area. This area of your body is prone to developing sagging skin and shifted fat as you get older, as well as with weight gain and pregnancy. An arm lift removes the excess tissue to contour the area, and Dr. Shawn may also use liposuction to tone the area. Be sure to browse our arm lift before and after photos.

How Much Does Arm Lift Surgery Cost?

At OptimalSelf MD, we understand that you want to feel good about yourself, yet cost may be a primary consideration. We recommend that you schedule a consultation as a first step. As part of the consultation, we explain the price of your arm lift surgery, and payment can be made by cash, check, and credit card. We also work with CareCredit® and Alphaeon® to offer our patients financing options.

Who is a Good Candidate for an Arm Lift?

One of the best ways to determine if you can benefit from an arm lift is to stand in front of a mirror and hold your arms straight out to your sides. If you notice sagging skin and fat from the underside of your arm, an arm lift may be a feasible solution, especially if you work hard to tone your upper arms with exercise.

What Can I Expect During Arm Lift Surgery?

Arm lift surgery involves removing tissue from the area, and liposuction is also used in some cases. An incision is made from the side of the inner elbow to the armpit. Dr. Shawn removes any pockets of fat via liposuction and then trims away the excess skin and fat.

How Long Will It Take Me to Recover from Arm Lift Surgery?

Recovery from an arm lift can take one to two weeks. You will need to avoid strenuous activities, and you will not be able to lift your arms over your head. Dr. Shawn recommends that you only wear button-up shirts after the surgery until the tissues heal completely. The arm lift scar heals over one year and will be slightly darker than your natural skin tone.

Can I Schedule a Consultation for an Arm Lift?

We encourage you to schedule a consultation with Dr. Shawn to discuss your ideas about arm lift surgery. We offer 15-minute consultations, as well as in-office consultations for a fee.
