PAH after Cryolipolysis May Not Be So ‘Rare’

“A recent article in our leading Plastic Surgery Journal discusses the higher-than-expected risk of PAH (paradoxical adipose hyperplasia) after CoolSculpting. Essentially, MORE fat grows back in the areas that were treated with CoolSculpting (fat reduction through COLD) than was there previously. While it’s still a relatively low number of occurrences (1 per 138 patients), it’s still much higher than should be expected. Patients with PAH were treated with standard surgical liposuction to remove the extra fat. This unfortunate side effect has NOT been observed in SculpSure (laser-based HEAT for fat reduction) in any study to date. So, if you are considering non-invasive fat reduction, consider SculpSure! See a board certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss what type of treatment would be best for your areas of concern!”
